Inspired by the city nightscape, Urban is a table lamp, built from a combination of industrial materials as a tribute to what defines the cities we live in. The base is a brute concrete square cast topped with hand-placed staples sculpted and con- nected together to create the Urban form. Urban sits beautifully as a brutalist artis-
tic statement piece. When the light is on, it passes through the negative spaces between the overlapped and staked metal cartridges, recreating the city nightscape. Between day and night use, the object switches from being the materials of the city to the lights of the city.
