A unique reversible rug, designed and manufactured by South African designer Nawaaz Saldulker, in 2020, cotton material with wildlife motifs in migration, dimensions c. 185 cm x 130 cm. With the fact that one garbage truck of clothes is burned or sent to a landfill every second, this rug is handwoven with discarded t-shirts, which is used as its raw material.
A once-off handmade piece. The carpet is part of a small collec- tion from a range, called '8 Acts Of Animal Confinement' made during quarantine in Austria while waiting for Covid-19 to subside. It was also part of D.A.C.(Designers Against Coronavirus) online exhibition curated by CaroselloLab, with concept and direction by Enrico Caputo and others.
