biography
Afra and Tobia Scarpa were two of the most influential Italian designers of the 20th century. Born in 1937 and 1935 respectively, the husband and wife duo made a name for themselves in the world of architecture and industrial design. Their work was characterized by a unique blend of traditional Italian craftsmanship and modernist design principles. They were known for their ability to create functional, yet aesthetically pleasing designs that were both timeless and innovative.Over the course of their careers, Afra and Tobia Scarpa worked with some of the biggest names in the design industry, including Flos, Cassina, and Knoll. They were also responsible for designing a number of iconic buildings, including the Palazzo della Triennale in Milan and the Olivetti showroom in Venice.Despite their many accomplishments, Afra and Tobia Scarpa remained humble and dedicated to their craft. They believed that good design should be accessible to everyone, and they worked tirelessly to create products that were both beautiful and affordable.Today, their legacy lives on through their many contributions to the world of design.
