How to sell

Buying and Selling

Selling

Cambi Casa d'Aste is at your disposal for free valuations of objects to sell. A preliminary valuation can be carried out on pictures with all necessary information to concerning the object (dimensions, signatures, state of preservation) and all possible documentation. By appointment, it is possible to carry out home valuations.
Before the auctions, it will be necessary to set a reserve price, the minimum amount under which the lot cannot be sold. This price is strictly confidential and it could be inferior, equal or superior to the estimate of the catalogue and it will be protected by the auctioneer by special raisings. If the reserve price won’t be reached, the lot will be considered as unsold. On the hammer price, the auction house will deduct a commission of 15% (with a minimum of € 30) and 1% as insurance refund.

At the moment of the delivery of the lots to the auction house, the seller will receive a receipt with the descriptions of the lots and the reserve prices agreed on. Later, it will be necessary to sign the warrant of sale with all contractual conditions, reserve prices, numbers of the lot/s and possible additional charges for the client.
Before the auction, the seller will receive a copy of the catalogue with his objects.
After the auction, each seller will receive a report with a list of all his objects and relevant adjudications.
For unsold lots, it will be possible to agree on a reduction of the reserve price giving the necessary time to carry out further attempts to sell them, also with private negotiations. If not, the lots will have to be collected by the seller at his expenses within 30 days after the auction. After this date, the seller will have to pay the cost of transportation and custody.

In no case, Cambi will be held responsible for the loss or the damaging of the lots let in the warehouse of the auction house, if they are caused by changes of humidity or temperature, fair wear or slow deterioration due to all kind of intervention on the good by third parties on behalf of the seller, or by hidden defects (included woodworms).

Payments

After 30 working days since the date of the auction, Cambi will pay the amount due for the sale with a cheque to be collected in our offices or with a bank transfer on a bank account registered in the lots owner’s name, if the purchaser fulfilled the obligation he took with the adjudication and there had not been any claims or controversies concerning the items sold. At the time of payment, Cambi will issue an invoice with a detail of the adjudications, the commissions and other possible costs. In any case, Cambi will pay the seller only after having received the payment by the purchaser.
