NOTE: With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1937 and its subsequent sale on 16 December 1937. A very elegant and wearable reference, it has a remarkable wrist presence with its 44 mm. long case.
Reference 490 is a fine example of Patek Philippe's Art Deco curvex-type wristwatches, in production from 1936 until 1948. The watch is prominently illustrated and described in Patek Philippe Steel Watches by John Goldberger, pp. 150-151.
