L'esemplare, in tiratura coeva, è datato e monogrammato AG 1555 sulla tavoletta in basso a destra. Si tratta della quarta e ultima tavola della seria La storia di Lot. Aldegrever, alla stregua dei fratelli Beham, di Jacob Binck, Georg Pencz e Albert Altdorfer, appartiene ad un gruppo di incisori noti come Piccoli Maestri di Norimberga, in riferimento alla loro predilezione per le incisioni di piccolo formato.
