Gorgeous vintage poster for the Gotthard tunnel. It was opened in 1891 and was the longest tunnel in Europe for decades. Trains from the North of Europe were able to cross the Swiss Alps to the lakes of Ticino and Italy. The wheel and the Hermes wings were the symbols of the transportation company.
