This is the most important appointment with auteur design that Cambi Casa d'Aste offers to collectors and enthusiasts, connoisseurs and admirers of furniture and its complements, signed by Italian and international design masters: on Monday, December 4, at 4 p.m., at its Milan headquarters on Via S. Marco, the maison presents Fine Design. The highly anticipated, single-round live auction features a catalog of nearly 150 extraordinary lots. Lamps and chandeliers, chairs, consoles, tables, desks, armchairs, sofas, trolleys, stools, umbrella stands, mirrors, but also sets of dishes and tableware: iconic objects that have made the history of world design, created by authors such as Pietro Consagra, Gaetano Pesce, Isamu Kenmochi, Shigeru Uchida, Max Ingrand, Gio Ponti, Osvaldo Borsani, Franco Albini, Vittorio Gregotti, Angelo Lelii and many others.

Some of the most interesting objects include the large ceiling lamp made in 1960 by Barovier & Toso, a company founded in 1295 and known worldwide for the production of chandeliers and art glass objects: the lamp, made of lacquered metal and polished brass with polychrome Murano glass elements is, like all the objects produced by the company, a unique work of art, hand-composed by expert craftsmen using traditional techniques capable of creating unparalleled shapes and colors (estimate: €20,000 / 30,000).

Disappeared in 2017 at the age of 95, artist and designer Gabriella Crespi was the arbiter of taste and vestal of elegance in the bourgeois living rooms of the 1970s and 1980s: hers is the low table model Cubo Magico by Plurimi-a series of extraordinary furniture pieces inspired by artist Emilio Vedova-with retractable tops inserted into a wooden frame with brass covers (estimate: €18,000 / €24,000).

Another exceptional lot in terms of workmanship and design is the celebrated hanging lamp model 1881 made by Fontana Arte in 1960 and signed by Max Ingrand, a French master glassmaker and decorator who was the company's artistic director for a decade from 1954 (estimate: 15,000 / 20,000 €); the lamp features a brass frame and inner and outer diffusers in ground, colored and curved crystal.

Carlo Hauner (1927-1997) and Martin Eisler (1913-1977) were the principal designers of the iconic Brazilian furniture company Forma. By this world-famous couple, the auction offers the two Costela model armchairs with lacquered iron and curved wood frames and fabric cushions (estimate: €10,000 / 12,000).

Cabinetmaker, designer, and decorator, Carlo Bugatti (1855 - 1940) is known for his unmistakable eclectic style, which made him a leading figure in world design in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Eleven lots bear his signature, including a rare showcase cabinet with a wooden frame in different woods and inlays, enriched with glass doors and decorations in pewter, bone, stained glass and embossed copper applications; the keys and handles are decorated with the initials of Bugatti himself, who made it around 1900 (estimate: €15,000 / €20,000).

Three other lots of absolute excellence also deserve a mention: the pair of folding chairs model Singer by Gio Ponti with an elegant wooden frame and fabric covers, produced by Cassina/Fratelli Reguitti in 1953 (estimate: 8,000 / 12. 000 €), the 1988 storage cabinet with a gilded wood and briarwood frame and chromed and brass-plated metal details by Ettore Sottsass (estimate: 7,000 / 9,000 €), and the large storage cabinet signed by Osvaldo Borsani with a wood frame embellished with doors with decoration painted by Adriano Spilimbergo (estimate: 6,000 / 8,000 €).

Finally, we recall the rarest and most unpredictable item in the auction: the famous AD800 stereo cabinet, produced in a limited series and dated 1975, bearing the signature of legendary French actor Alain Delon. The cabinet comes complete with compartments containing turntable, Sony cassette player, speakers on base, and wooden central body with embossed metal and enamel applications.
