Design200 is an unmissable moment for fans design, with a catalogue dedicated to the history and world of Design. A unique collection of furnishing objects signed by the great masters of the 20th century, from prestigious private collections.
From the Africa chairs by Afra and Tobia Scarpa, to the Camaleonda sofa by Mario Bellini, and the tables designed by Massimo and Lella Vignelli and Anacleto Spazzapan, 200 lots tell the best of historical design.
"The appointment with Design 200 is a moment we care about and to which we pay the utmost attention, as it is set among Milan's spring events and therefore has a more glamorous natural vocation. There is a range of sought-after objects for design lovers who are very attentive to original pieces with a strong decorative vocation, such as the six-moon chandelier by Angelo Lelii or the Africa chairs by Afra and Tobia Scarpa. The proposal also includes more eclectic pieces to provide a selection suitable for different interior styles, from rationalism to modernism with both classical and contemporary works. The market is in turmoil and our duty to our customers is to help them understand where the wind is blowing, anticipating trends and supporting their choices. So we select historical brands such as Arteluce or Saporiti that are experiencing a phase of underestimation, and we try to anticipate their return and provide excellent bargains to those who choose to follow our proposals," says Piermaria Scagliola, Director of the Design department at Cambi Casa d'Aste.
Among the lots identified by the department, there is a refined selection of tables, such as the sculpture-table by Nerone and Patuzzi Gruppo NP2 (estimate: €8,000 - €10,000), the coffee table with a perfect geometric synthesis by Massimo and Lella Vignelli (estimate: €2,000 - €4,000) and Anacleto Spazzapan with its lacquered teak top and stainless steel moulded legs.
Colourful light fittings will animate the auction, such as the two brass Stilnovo wall lamps (estimate: €2,000 - €4,000), Gio Ponti's pendant lamp produced for Venini in 1950 in blown Murano glass (estimate: €5,000 - €7,000) and the ceiling Sei Lune model lamp with a polished brass structure, lacquered metal and oval diffusers in flashed glass designed by Angelo Lelii (estimate: €8,000 - €12,000).
Next to the elegant modular bookcase by Taichiro Nakai (estimated value: €6,000 - €8,000), there are also important seating items such as the four woven armchairs by Ross Littell (estimated value: €4,000 - €6,000), six chairs by Afra and Tobia Scarpa model Africa of the Artona series (estimated value: €10,000 - €15,000) and the iconic Camaleonda sofa by Mario Bellini.
From Thursday 16 to Saturday 18 March and Monday 20 March, the public will be able to visit the exhibition of the lots in the spaces of the Milan headquarters of the maison.
