Leonidas S.A. founded in 1841, purchased by Constant Jeanneret-Droz in 1912, which made it famous for its chronographs.
Leonidas finally joined the Heuer in 1964, thus continuing his tradition of military chronography.
Starting in 1964, Leonidas started supplying the Chronographs 1 (CP-1) that equipped the pilots of the Italian Air Force.
Originally these chronographs were equipped with rotating rings in bakelite, which were too fragile and were then replaced with aluminium inserts as in this lot.
