Rolex production of reference 6234 was extremely limited. Scholars speculate that, since the launch of the reference in 1955, about 2300 stainless steel units have been produced. The reference ceased production after about six years, replaced by reference 6238 in 1961 - the last reference "Pre-Daytona".
