On Monday, Sept. 25, with a selection of nearly 400 lots including tables, sofas, armchairs, mirrors, lamps, vases and coat racks, Cambi Auction House reopens the doors of its Genovese headquarters at Castello Mackenzie with a new edition of Design Lab, an auction featuring a selection of furniture objects signed by the most famous Italian and international names in the world of design.

From Gio Ponti to Ettore Sottsass, from Ugo Nespolo to Mario Botta and Joe Colombo, and again Norman Foster, Marcel Breuer, Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe and Alvar Aalto among the authors involved in a unique round, whose lots are already visible, with characteristics, estimates and bidding possibilities, at www.cambiaste.com.

Among the top lots, three designs by Gio Ponti should be noted: the green velvet sofa with wooden frame and supports produced in 1938 (estimate: €1,000.00 / 2,000.00); a fine mirrored crystal with a maritime decoration representing a sailboat surrounded by seagulls (estimate: €800.00 / 1. 000.00); and a pair of French-made armchairs (Boucheres et Fils, 1950) with wooden frame, arms and supports and fabric upholstery (estimate: € 2,000.00 / 4,000.00).

By Alvar Aalto, one of the most important Finnish architects and designers of the 20th century, 5 Artek chairs - model 68 with wooden frame and curved wood - made to an original design from 1935 and produced in Finland in the 1950s are to be auctioned (estimate € 800.00 / 1. 000.00); the pair of armchairs with bentwood frame and black woven fabric seat (estimate € 1,200.00 / 1,500.00); and the 1950s linear table characterized by bentwood supports and wooden top (estimate: € 800.00 / 1,000.00).

Other iconic pieces include the pair of low tables model T128 by Osvaldo Borsani, with lacquered wood and leather frame, produced by Tecno in 1969 (estimate: € 2,000.00 / 3,000.00); the large table model Tesi by Mario Botta (estimate: € 2,000.00 / 4,000.00); and Achille Castiglioni's floor lamp model Bibip, with lacquered metal and steel frame, ceramic base and diffuser (estimate: € 800.00 / 1,000.00).

And there is no shortage of big names linked to the world of fashion such as Missoni, with a colorful rug (estimate: € 600.00 / 800.00), or extravagant pieces such as the large sheep (85 X 30 X 60 cm) with an aluminum structure and wool upholstery produced in France in 1970 in the manner of François-Xavier Lalanne (estimate: € 1,000.00 / 2,000.00).
