Engraving on the back of the base: Tzongkhapa Lobzang Drakpa. Likely made on an Imperial commission; there are several depictions of Tzongkhapa throughout the centuries, but they rarely state the name.
Tsongkhapa Losang Drakpa was the founder of the Gelukpa order, one of the leading religions in the history of Tibet. His intellectual legacy has changed the course of Tibetan history and is still very relevant to this day.
