More information
1972, Munich hosted the Olympic Games, Longines time sponsor of the competition launched a Conquest dedicated to the event, with a dedicated engraving on the back. To the best of our knowledge, this timepiece is the only one that has ever appeared on the market in the configuration with two counters. From the information in the archive extract, we know that the watch was invoiced in Greece, the place where all the Olympic flames are lit before reaching the host country of the Games. We therefore think that this watch is a special version made especially for the ceremony of the lighting of the Olympic flame. This watch therefore represents an object of historical and collector's significance that manages to unite the world of watchmaking with that of sport.
