Before the holiday season, Cambi Auction House presents in the setting of Castello Mackenzie in Genoa five appointments dedicated to the finest collecting.

Among them, on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., Cambi Auction House presents a new appointment dedicated to Maiolica and Antique Porcelain. A refined collection of finely decorated works from private consignments. This year Cambi is pleased to present a fine collection of porcelains from a Venetian collector.

On Thursday, December 21, 2023, the two-day auction concludes with an appointment dedicated to Maioliche, porcelains and Venetian figures from a Venetian collector, at 3 pm. Among the many lots we point out a typical Venetian "boccia," with a globular body, probably designed for a pharmaceutical use (estimate: €3,000 - €5,000), a porcelain "Madrigale" group from the Girolamo Franchini manufacture (estimate: €3. 000 - €5,000), a shell tub from the Stampa family service in Soncino (estimate: €3,000 - €6,000) and a framed plaque depicting the Madonna dell'Orto church of the Ambrosian Fathers in Venice (estimate: €5,800 - €8,800).

Absolute top lot is a teapot from the Vezzi Manufacture (estimate: €70,000 - €100,000) of spherical shape and painted in polychrome, with one side decorated with an Oriental archer aiming at waterfowl, while a second character is leaning against an architectural ruin; on the other side, however, we find a scene where a servant hands a cup of tea to an Oriental dignitary.
