More information
Introduced in 1967 and remaining in production until 1972, the Singer ‘Exotic’ dial, nicknamed Paul Newman by enthusiasts, has always been an icon of international watch collecting. The watch featured here is part of one of the very first cases on which the Mark II dial could be mounted, also known to collectors as the ‘Narrow House’ Swiss precisely because of the shape of the Swiss T lettering, which is shaped like a sloping roof and lies between hour markers 25 and 35.
The dial is preserved in very good condition despite its age, the ivory-coloured part of the dial shows no tarnish or staining, and the concentric circles within the contrasting subsidiary registers are defined and delicate.
The case is also in excellent condition, the lugs are full and the satin finish is crisp. The holes in the lugs remain at a considerable distance from the edge of the case, reflecting its original condition.
