The session on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, dedicated to sculpture, presents a selection that traces the evolution of sculptural language—from the formal rigor of 19th-century Classicism to the more conceptual works of the following century.

Among the most noteworthy lots is Lot 113, Marcellina by Attilio Selva, a refined model in plaster and wax on a cipollino marble base, dated 1919 and initialed on the reverse, estimated at €1,500 – 2,000. Lot 114, Maternal Love by Antonio Maraini, is an elegant cast bronze, signed and dated 1920, with great sculptural strength, estimated at €4,000 – 6,000.

Lot 79, Alexander the Great by Vincenzo Gemito, also draws great interest. It is a cast and patinated bronze high-relief, signed and bearing the mark of the Fonderia Artistica Napoli, estimated at €3,000 – 4,000. Equally expressive is Lot 52, Ulysses by Giuseppe Grandi, a bronze of remarkable emotional dynamism, signed and produced by the renowned Fonderia Artistica Battaglia, with an estimate of €3,000 – 4,000.

The selection concludes with two finely crafted white marble busts: Lot 4, Bust of a Gentleman, and Lot 3, Bust of a Lady, both by Vincenzo Vela and part of a well-known sculptural group dated around 1860. Originating from a historic collection already documented in previous sales, both lots are estimated at €2,000 – 3,000 each.
