On Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Cambi’s Genoa headquarters, the live auction dedicated to Design returns, featuring 20th-century furniture pieces.

The sale presents a carefully curated selection of items that combine refinement and functionality, designed to appeal to a diverse audience with a keen eye for the cultural value of objects.

The auction highlights renowned names from both Italian and international design, offering furnishings and decorative pieces that can enhance any interior—from classic to contemporary.

Among the top lots is a famous Camaleonda sofa by Mario Bellini, composed of six modules and produced by B&B in 1971—an iconic example of modularity and comfort. Also among the standout pieces are six model P35 armchairs by Osvaldo Borsani, created in the 1950s by Arredamenti Borsani Varedo, notable for their refined balance of formal elegance and functionality.

The catalogue also includes a rare bookcase by Gio Ponti, showcasing the harmony between architecture and design that defined his work. Also of note is a storage cabinet by Paolo Buffa, produced by Mosè Turri in the 1950s.
Noteworthy as well are pieces by Ettore Sottsass, including three glazed ceramics—the Calice vase, the Rocchetto vase, and the Alzata bowl—produced by Bitossi in the 1980s, which exemplify the designer’s original and expressive creativity.

The auction stands out for its strong representation of furniture and objects from the 1950s and 1960s, the golden age of Italian design. These include two elegant armchairs by Federico Munari and two model C 420 table lamps by Antonia Campi, produced by Società Ceramica Italiana of Laveno.

Rounding out the selection are a floor lamp by Angelo Lelii for Arredoluce, a model 1968 lamp by Fontana Arte, and three refined Cardinal model soliflore vases by Lino Sabattini, produced in France for Christofle as part of the Gallia collection.
