Launched in the late 1960s, references 6263 and 6265 replaced the first Oyster Cosmograph model, the 6240. These two references were produced concurrently and differed only in the type of tachymeter bezel they were fitted with: black acrylic for ref. 6263 and steel for ref. 6265.
