In the heart of Genoa, within the scenic halls of Mackenzie Castle, one of the most eagerly awaited events for lovers of beauty returns on Wednesday, November 26: L’Art de la Table, the Cambi Auction House sale that each year celebrates the elegance of dining and the art of the table.
More than an auction, L’Art de la Table is a sensory journey into the culture of hospitality and refined everyday living: porcelains, crystalware, silver, linens, designer glass, and décor objects tell the story of transforming every table into a stage of style.
From the most refined and prestigious European porcelain and crystal manufacturers to Murano glass creations and finely crafted silverware, each piece reveals the care, tradition, and creativity that have always accompanied the art of conviviality. The catalogue, featuring over 600 lots, presents iconic services by Meissen, Herend, Royal Copenhagen, Limoges, Richard Ginori, Hermès, Saint Louis, and Baccarat, among others — perfect for collectors and for anyone wishing to make every dining moment special.
The silver section includes a table entirely dedicated to England between the 18th and 19th centuries, highlighted by an important set of plates by the celebrated silversmith Paul Storr, alongside numerous works by leading Italian names of the 20th century such as Buccellati and Bulgari, the Milanese Genazzi and Finzi, and the Florentine Brandimarte, to whom an entire table setting has been dedicated.
The event concludes with a tribute to the most famous American brand, Tiffany, featuring a charming mise en place evocatively titled Breakfast at Tiffany’s — a name that recalls one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars, the extraordinary and unforgettable Audrey Hepburn.
“L’Art de la Table is a tribute to the beauty of everyday life,” says Cambi Casa d’Aste. “Each year we select objects that not only represent true craftsmanship but also embody the history of gestures and traditions that connect us to the joy of sharing.”
The preview exhibition will be open in the days leading up to the sale, offering the public the opportunity to immerse themselves in the art of hospitality among the frescoed halls and elegantly set tables of Castello Mackenzie — in an atmosphere that bridges past and present.
