More information
Introduced in the early 1990s, reference 5035 marks a pivotal moment in Patek Philippe’s modern history. At the time, the Manufacture identified a significant gap between its simpler lines—such as the Calatrava, then priced around 10,000 euros—and its more complex models, whose entry point began at approximately 45,000 euros with the ref. 3940. The solution was to create a watch offering a useful, truly “everyday” function, without venturing into the realm of grand complications. Thus was born a new interpretation of the annual calendar, launched with a list price of under 20,000 euros.

Reference 5035 was developed around the 315-S-QA movement, an automatic caliber specifically designed starting from the proven 315 and adapted to house the annual calendar indication: a complication capable of automatically distinguishing between 30- and 31-day months, requiring manual adjustment only once a year, in February.

The present example represents one of the most sought-after variants: a rose-gold case paired with a black dial, an elegant and assertive combination, today increasingly difficult to find in excellent condition.

A commercial success from the moment of its debut, ref. 5035 is now recognized as one of the key references of Patek Philippe’s modern production—not only for its technical merit, but for its historical role in defining an entire category.
