In Rolex’s history, “left-handed” watches, designed to be worn on the right wrist, were extremely rare. The few examples produced were made exclusively on special request from the most loyal clients, effectively reversing the orientation of the dial.

This lot, reference 4467, is an “Ovettone,” a name given to the case similar to the Ovetto but with an enlarged 36 mm diameter. Further enhancing it is the so-called “roulette” date, characterized by alternating red and black numbers. Only a few examples of this model were made starting from 1945, in yellow and pink gold, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the crowned Maison.

The rarity of this reference, with surprisingly modern proportions, combined with the crown positioned at 9 o’clock and the beautiful dial patina, makes this watch a magnificent tribute to Rolex’s history and an ideal piece for the most passionate collectors.
