More information
The Cartier Crash is one of the most audacious and revolutionary silhouettes in watchmaking. Born in 1967 "Swinging London" with its asymmetrical and twisted lines that evoke the surrealism of Salvador Dalí, the model immediately became a legend: the original London pieces were produced in extremely limited quantities and featured a shaped movement crafted by Jaeger-LeCoultre.
After a few decades, the Maison brought the Crash back into production with a reissue that reignited international interest. The piece presented here, produced by the Paris boutique in 1991, belongs precisely to that fundamental revival phase. Released in a limited edition of only 400 pieces, this yellow gold series is distinguished by the "Paris" signature on the dial.
In recent years, the model has experienced an extraordinary new consecration, becoming a cult object appreciated by collectors, artists, and prominent figures of contemporary culture, and establishing itself as one of the most recognizable symbols of Cartier's creative language.
