In the first session dedicated to coral jewelry, highlights include the pendant earrings with coral, onyx, enamel and diamonds by S. Nardi (lot 8, estimate: €9,000 / 12,000); the “Moretto” brooch with turquoise and diamonds by Codognato (lot 101, estimate: €4,000 / 5,000); the Scavia necklace with coral beads and crystal elements (lot 44, estimate: €4,500 / 5,500); and two faceted coral necklaces with two and five strands respectively (lots 100 and 102, estimate: €5,000 / 6,000).
The second session presents a selection of fine jewelry, including the tank bracelet by Weingrill (lot 79, estimate: €7,500 / 9,500).
Among the trousses, noteworthy pieces include the classic minaudière by Boucheron Paris set with small rubies and sapphires (lot 158, estimate: €2,000 / 3,000), the Gucci pochette with mirror (lot 157, estimate: €1,000 / 1,500), and the vanity case containing a powder compact and lipstick holder (lot 290, estimate: €6,000 / 8,000), crafted in silver with heavy gilding and embellished with colored gemstones, an elegant creation by M. Buccellati (the pendant bears the initials of the original owner).
Colored gemstones take center stage in some of the auction’s most significant lots: the necklace with Colombian emeralds totaling approximately 50.00 carats and brilliant- and carré-cut diamonds (lot 252, estimate: €25,000 / 30,000); the ring set with a 3.29-carat Burma sapphire, NTE certified, and diamonds (lot 250, estimate: €8,000 / 12,000); the necklace with aquamarines totaling approximately 252.00 carats and baguette- and brilliant-cut diamonds (lot 204, estimate: €15,000 / 20,000); and the ring set with an approximately 14.70-carat Sri Lankan sapphire flanked by two trilliant-cut diamonds (lot 266, estimate: €30,000 / 40,000).
The catalogue also includes several signed jewels: an engagement ring featuring a 4.72-carat circular-cut diamond by Bulgari, accompanied by its original purchase certificate (lot 257, estimate: €18,000 / 22,000); Cartier signs the clip brooch with diamonds and citrine quartz (lot 278, estimate: €12,000 / 16,000); and David Webb is represented by a large gold and platinum necklace with diamonds and a detachable pendant (lot 279, estimate: €40,000 / 50,000).
The catalogue further features two small collections by Italian designers active during the second half of the twentieth century: Misani (lots 129 to 138) and Sforza (lots 139 to 156). Also noteworthy are the jewels by Enrico Serafini, offered as lots 313 (estimate: €4,000 / 5,000) and 331 (estimate: €5,000 / 6,000).
The section dedicated to diamonds includes the earrings set with D-colour pear-shaped diamonds weighing 2.15 and 2.44 carats respectively, the latter being a Type IIa diamond (lot 271, estimate: €35,000 / 40,000); a 6.18-carat brilliant-cut diamond, G colour (lot 274, estimate: €70,000 / 80,000); and the bracelet set with approximately 23.00 carats of carré-cut diamonds (lot 258, estimate: €45,000 / 55,000).
