I Thimese sono gamberetti fossili della specie Carpopenaeus callirostris provenienti dai famosi giacimenti fossiliferi del Cretaceo vicino ad Ajoula, in Libano. Questi giacimenti fossili furono menzionati per la prima volta dallo storico greco Erodoto, che affermò di aver trovato "pesci nelle pietre".
