gr 119 W. 5,35,3 - D. 1,6 - H. 6,3 6,3
Extract from the Mashamba West Mine in Kowezi (Lualaba)
More information
It is a copper carbonate of secondary origin that forms on the surface of copper deposits through the weathering of sulfides upon contact with air.
Natural MALACHITE features regular brushstrokes and streaks of green—sometimes very dark—but never black. It feels cool and heavy to the touch.
MALACHITE is also known for its distinctive striped patterns, which form concentric rings of light and dark green.
These patterns make every piece of MALACHITE truly one-of-a-kind. MALACHITE is a precious stone, highly sought after by collectors.

Uses

-In jewelry as a cabochon and in semi-precious items;
-The Greeks and Romans made amulets from it, believing it protected against accidents;
