20th Century Decorative Arts

Cambi’s department having as an object Design and 20th Century Decorative Arts was born in February 2002, year in which Cambi’s first “Novecento” auction was organized, a sale that introduced an important collection of Fontana Arte decorative objects and a splendid series of Biancini’s ceramics.  

The department of Design and 20th Century Decorative Arts organizes auctions regularly taking place usually in spring and autumn; the catalogues include artworks in bronze, ceramics and glass signed by the biggest names of the 20th Century. For the ceramics Cambi auctions include artworks by artists as Giò Ponti, Enrico Scanvini for Lenci, Fausto Melotti, Galileo Chini, Francesco Nonni, Laveno, Friedrich Goldscheider. Important names in Cambi’s decorative arts auctions for glass objects can be remebered names of important Italian glassmakers as Venini, Scarpa and Barovier as well as French glassmakers as Emile Gallè and Daum.  

Among the most important sales of this department can be remebered objects as the extraordinary flower vase Nancy signed by Emile Gallè, an artwork sold for € 75,000 and the gold and violet porcelain urn Le passioni prigioniere signed Giò Ponti, produced by the artist for Richard Ginori Manufacture.
