A white marble donor figure, Tuscany, 15th century
cm 19,5x12.Il personaggio, estremamente definito e caratteristico, sembra essere un offerente, facente parte forse di un altarolo o di un monumento funebre. Il modellato morbido e regolare del panneggio rimanda ai modelli rinascimentali mentre le proporzioni leggermente schiacciate potrebbero portare a pensare che il nostro frammento possa provenire dall'area geografica dell'alta Toscana, dove il marmo di Carrara era utilizzato in maniera massiccia. Alcuni richiami stilistici si potrebbero intravedere con l'opera di Domenico Gare o comunque di quegli scultori attivi in Lunigiana tra la fine del XV secolo e l'inizio di quello successivo.
