Patek Philippe introduced reference 3712/1A in 2005, and it remained in production for approximately one year – some estimate as few as eight months. The first of the Nautilus family was presented in 1976. Reference 3712/1A was at the time of its launch, the most complicated version of the Nautilus made by Patek Philippe, which had previously only indicated the date. With its extremely short production period, the reference 3712 is amongst the rarest of all variants of the Nautilus, making it extremely sought after.

Patek Philippe ha introdotto la referenza 3712/1A nel 2005 ed è rimasta in produzione per solo un anno circa, alcuni esperti stimano addirittura otto mesi. Il primo esemplare della famiglia dei Nautilus venne presentato nel 1976. La referenza 3712/1A, al tempo del suo lancio sul mercato, era la versione di Nautilus più complicata fatta da Patek Philippe, che in precedenza aveva indicata solo la data. Con il suo periodo di produzione estremamente breve, la referenza 3712/1A è tra le più rare del Nautilus, rendendola quindi estremamente ricercata.
