La prova, nitida e ben contrastata nel II stato di 2 con la dedica impressa su carta databile alla prima metà del Seicento, presenta una filigrana di difficile lettura. Il soggetto è evidentemente tratto da un dipinto di Orazio Gentileschi, oggi custodito presso la National Gallery of Canada.
