Michele Wan Lind, scultore discendente da una famiglia di origini fiamminghe, fu per oltre vent’anni direttore della scuola di scultura a Volterra nonchè il curatore del primo laboratorio di alabastro a Pisa. Morì a Roma nel 1828.
