Franked with China 4c. brown, tied by large Chefoo Chinese 2-ring bilingual c.d.s.; Shanghai bilingual c.d.s. on transit on 2c. H.K. QV carmine in pair. Arrived on Apr, 21 in H.K., the postcard was embarked on a French packet “Ligne N-Paq. F.R. n°3”. [..]

franked with China 1/2 cent. (x2), 1c. and 2c. cancelled by pakua, matching Shanghai c.d.s. (May 1) and I.P.O. framed cancel on H.Kong 2.c. pair. Alongside d.c. “Shanghai/Local Post/Apr.27” and d.c. “Paq. F.R. N°7/6 May 99”. “Triest 1/1/6” on arrival. [..]

On illustrated postcard to Trieste, bearing “Shanghai 13 Jan” bilingual cancel. Alongside manuscript “Via Siberia”. Very fine.

Affrancata al verso con 1c. giallo arancio e striscia di tre del 3c. blu-verde (YV. 146A,149A); cartolina da 1 1/2 cent. con affr. complementare da 1/2c. e 4c. (Yv. 180,185). Da HINGAN SHE via Hankow per Milano del 1 luglio 1926. Molto interessante.

Each franked with 1/2 sen grey (YV. 94), cancelled by Tokio c.d.s. on the front, not travelled. Very fine.

Affrancata per 30 millesimes con cinque francobolli da 3 mil, uno da 5 mil. e uno da 10 mil. (YV. 38-40/41). In arrivo fu tassata per doppio porto con segnatasse da 25c. e 1 lira (S.37/42) al verso. Bellissima affrancatura, non comune.

Superb strike of the very difficult and early postmark “FRANCHES”, a classic of the London Foreign Office. Some ageign as to be expected but overall fine for an item of this type and period. Very rare in this condition. G. Bolaffi.

Showing the London “Bishop” mark on arrival, with day in top section, used from 1721 to 1787. Fine.
