After a year of absence, the great painting of the nineteenth century by Cambi returns: on May 4, at Castello Mackenzie, will be auctioned the 19th and 20th century Paintings catalogue.

Among the artists represented Giovanni Fattori, Guglielmo Ciardi, Vincenzo Irolli, Federico Zandomeneghi, Oscar Ghiglia, Pompeo Mariani, and many other artists.

An important work by Zandomeneghi, the oil on canvas L'attesa drives the catalogue (estimate: 150,000 - 200,000 €). The artist who together with Boldini and De Nittis represented the Italian spirit in Paris, was the only Italian impressionist artist. The work represents a moment of domestic life taken from life. Zandomeneghi uses vibrant colours and small, dense brushstrokes to make the canvas vibrate and the result is a vibrant, modern, contemporary image.

Interesting and of refined execution, the catalogue presents an oil on canvas by Francesco Paolo Michetti entitled L'ottava, from 1878 (estimate: 50,000 - 70,000 €).
