A refined and exclusive selection of Old Masters, rich in history, charm, memory.
A compendium of works of high age, tables of great Flemish masters, portraits, sacred scenes and genre, dated between the seventeenth and the nineteenth century.

Top lot of the auction, the Portrait of a gentleman in armor by Antoon van Dyck, estimated at 80,000 - 100,000 euros, half-bust version of a well-known portrait executed by the artist at an auction in Sotheby’s in London (9 December 2015, n. 30), which portrays - probably - the Genoese nobleman Stefano Raggio.

It is believed that van Dyck used to create half-bust versions of the people portrayed, so as to use them to complete the works in full shape without forcing the subjects to long sittings in pose.

Staying abroad, more precisely in Antwerp, deserve attention the Madonna with the Child and Saint Anne (estimate: 30,000 - 50,000 euros) and the resealable triptych depicting the Holy Family and angels (estimate: 20,000 - 30,000 euros); both are fine specimens attributed to the Antwerp School of the sixteenth century.

We return to Italy, with an important work by the Venetian vedutista Michele Marieschi, entitled Veduta del Canal Grande con il Fondaco dei Turchi and estimated at 50,000 - 70,000 euros.
Less known than his contemporaries Canaletto and Guardi, his views are distinguished by a more lively use of color, an exasperated perspective and the presence of small figures.

Finally, we mention La deposizione di Cristo by the Renaissance miniaturist Giulio Clovio (estimated at 10,000 - 15,000 euros), a tempera work on parchment with soft colors and strong emotional impact. Not by chance then, if his contemporaries called him the "Michelangelo of the miniature".
