The selection of the Design200 sale in March includes rare pieces, such as the Table of the Plurimi series by Gabriella Crespi, and a full-bodied range of choice for all sensibilities.
Customers more attentive to the classics will find satisfaction with the lighting of Murano and Fontana Arte or with pieces by Franco Albini or Ico Parisi, while lovers of innovative furniture and Radical Italian design will find many interesting offers: we talk about the Safari Sofa by Archizoom and more contemporary proposals such as the Chair Veho Ronim by Sebastian Matta.

Here are five must-see Top Lots:

The Low Table of the Plurimi series by Gabriella Crespi is part of the series of the so-called Sculpture-Tables. It is a unique piece, dating from the seventies, characterized by a large sliding surface covered in steel, superimposed on a wooden top of the same size -135 cm x 132 cm - for a total height of 42 cm. Iconic piece of Italian design, it continues to amaze collectors. The game of Crespi remains cultured and refined, without forgetting the usefulness.

The so-called Radical design of Archizoom, a group of Florentine architects who broke into the market in 1967, dates back to the sixties; for Poltronova they designed the Safari sofa, one of the most representative objects of their production, astonishing in size and materials, equipped with fibreglass structure and fabric covers. The six-seater seat is divided into four modules, whose backrest has a wavy profile.

The Bookcase signed Ico Parisi, produced in Italy in the fifties, is a fun piece that stands out for the colorful wooden shelves with double functionality: these can in fact be used as bookends and handles for mobility.

The Chair Veho Ronim by the famous artist and designer Roberto Sebastian Matta is one of the most interesting objects of the catalogue, connotating not only as a piece of furniture, but also as a work of art. The author’s career is dotted with various successes and flanked by those of the great artists of the '900, including Salvador Dalì, Marcel Duchamp, Jackson Pollock. The signature on the object, therefore, certifies its undisputed value. It is also a limited edition numbered 25 out of 1000, produced in Italy in the eighties.

Finally, the eight Luisa chairs by Franco Albini have classic and fascinating lines at the same time. One of the absolute masterpieces of Italian design, the chair designed by Albini between 1939 and 1955 won the ADI Compasso d'Oro award in '55. This "ideal" chair condenses all the aspects characterizing the designer’s work: attention to materials, lightness, elegance, lines. "It seems to be the symbol of the patient and obstinate search for perfection characteristic of the Albini method", Gregotti affirmed at the X Triennale of 1954.
