Cambi Auction House presents the new auction dedicated to 19th- and 20th-century Sculpture scheduled for Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Castello Mackenzie in Genoa. Different artistic forms and languages give life to a rich selection of artworks created by important Italian and international artists.

Protagonists of this catalog, in the wake of Cambi's special attention to Ligurian authors, are the monumental preparatory plaster model for the marble sculpture of the "Navigator" by Antonio Maria Morera placed at the Genoa Foce inaugurated in 1939.

Among the top lots, also the refined bronze portrait datable to 1936 depicting Miss Christine Blair, daughter of the then U.S. ambassador of Rome, in riding clothes, by Albino Manca eclectic author with a feverish artistic vitality spent between Italy and the United States.

Finally, the large terracotta model of the Statue of Liberty signed by Fredric-Auguste Bertholdì (1834-1904), part of a rare nucleus of limited editions commissioned by the Union Franco Americaine to celebrate the delivery of the original, a gift from France to the people of the United States, in 1886.
