Three collections from three refined Genoese residences are the protagonists of a unique live auction in which masterpieces of painting, sculpture, furnishing elements and rare objects tell different historical eras and great passions for the ancient.

The first of the collections involved comes from a splendid villa overlooking the sea in Genoa, characterized by the extraordinary quality of the ancient paintings it collects, such as the refined Portrait of a Philosopher from the 17th century Neapolitan School (estimate 20,000 - 25,000 euros) or oil on canvas The New World – The Magic Lantern by Alessandro Magnasco known as the Lissandrino (estimate 15,000 – 20,000 euros).
An important carved wooden parade table from the second half of the 17th century also comes from the same house (estimate 5,000 - 7,000 euros).

From the Giancarlo and Mina Cerutti collection, a Genoese family represented today by their daughters Paola and Carla, we recall Chinese and European ceramics such as a rare pair of cups and saucers by Meissen dated 1723-1724 (estimate 3,000 - 5,000 euros), a pair of busts in 19th century marble depicting the Apollo del Belvedere and the Venus of Versailles (estimate 5,000 – 7,000 euros) and a fine selection of 20th century French glass. “In our very happy case we had the good fortune and the privilege of being able, already as young teenagers, to accompany our father on his frequent 'incursions' to the antique shops of his trust starting from the end of the 1960s to throughout the 1980s, for run out during the 1990s and stop at the beginning of the 2000s”, tell the daughters of Giancarlo Cerutti, owner with his wife of the large Genoese apartment that housed his collection for years: “How much careful observation, how much meticulous research, how many choices prudent but also how much passion and emotion in the collection of father and mother, how many studies, how many treatments, how many lessons of culture and respect for the world of art and antiques!”.

The third protagonist collection of the auction, characterized by an important collection of Chinese ceramics, is the one kept in an elegant apartment in the east of the city. Where do the splendid antique boiserie that the owners loved to place throughout the house also come from, such as "the large boiserie" made of lacquered wood in shades of blue-green with refined 17th century elements (estimate 8,000 - 10,000 euros ).

Among the top lots we should also mention a group of Genoese furniture of the eighteenth century of rare quality such as the rosewood trumeau inlaid in violet with the four-leaf clover motif (estimate 50,000 - 70,000 euros); the 18th century ivory-inlaid rosewood flap cabinet (estimate 15,000 - 20,000 euros); the Louis XV chest of drawers in rosewood inlaid with bois de rose (estimate 12,000 - 18,000 euros) and a chest of drawers from the Maggiolini workshop (estimate 6,000 - 8,000 euros).

Of particular quality is the cabinet made up of a pair of superimposed tortoiseshell, bronze and mahogany coin cabinets with painted glass panels, attributable to the school of Luca Giordano (estimate: 30,000 - 50,000 euros) and the marquetry by Giovanni Maffezzoli, a truly unique piece inspired by the famous Madonna di San Girolamo by Correggio (estimate: 8,000 - 12,000 euros).
