It's an auction sale dedicated to the most attentive and refined collector, the one staged on Tuesday, December 5, at the Milan headquarters of Cambi Casa d'Aste: with the new catalog dedicated to Wristwatches, the department that in the first half of 2023 brought the maison as many as two lots over €100. 000-with an Audermars Piguet Royal Oak and a Daniel Roth Chrono mono-button in platinum-returns with a very select collection of unique pieces made by the most authoritative international brands such as Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and many others, along with a number of increasingly sought-after independent brands of extreme quality that are gaining important market shares.

Among the many lots we highlight an example of Breguet's Reine de Naples in 18k gold and brilliants (estimate: €10,000 - €15,000), a direct "descendant" of the model created in 1810 by Abraham-Louis Breguet for the Queen of Naples Caroline Murat, and considered by many to be the first female wristwatch model; a model destined to make history as the first ultra-flat, oval-shaped repeater watch with a thermometer. Also up for auction is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak with a black Grande Tapisserie dial (estimate: €25,000 - €30,000) designed in the 1970s by Gérald Genta, which remains to this day an iconic model of the maison, with its octagonal bezel tightened with screws.

Lots also from the "crowned" Rolex could not be missed, such as the rare and exceptional three-counter chronograph ref 4313 with square pushers and snap-in case back (Estimate: Estimate €30,000 - €60,000): produced circa 1954, the model is made of 18k gold, vertical satin-finished silver dial and manual winding.

Absolute top lot of the auction, also Rolex, is a Cosmograph Daytona in 18k yellow gold (Estimate: €150,000 - €300,000), a feature that makes it a somewhat rare watch having been made in less than 2,000 examples. Considered an icon of the 21st century, the model on auction at Cambi's is accompanied by its original warranty certificate dating back to 1979.
