Cambi Auction House presents the auction dedicated to the furnishings of Palazzo Pugliese, an ancient building of timeless elegance.
Palazzo Pugliese is the most representative example of 19th-century architecture in Trani in terms of eclecticism, decorative details and furnishings. It is named after Giuseppe Alberto Pugliese, the first patron, an incisive presence in Trani's jurisprudence in the years from the late 19th century to the first half of the 20th century. The distinguished lawyer commissioned the palace, interpreting the most avant-garde tastes of the time, and completed its construction in 1890. Fitting perfectly into the typology of late 19th-century southern mansions, the Palace architecturally represents the emergence of a new middle class in all its economic and cultural ferment.
