The “Fine Asian Works of Art” live auction presents an exclusive selection of works of Oriental Art of extraordinary quality. Antique and precious jades and porcelains, enigmatic and sacred sculptures, paintings and drawings that celebrate the charm and sophistication of Asian art traditions.
Among the most outstanding works is a painting of a hen with chicks and inscriptions, by Xu Bei Hong (1895-1953) in ink on paper. The work was donated by Xu Beihong to Prof. Antonio Morassi, an illustrious art critic and historian, as a memento of the collaboration between him and Morassi in the realisation of the first exhibition of Chinese painting in Italy, held in Milan between December 1933 and January 1934 at the Palazzo Reale.
