One of the most significant highlights of the event is the Podda Collection, originating from a historic Lombard collection. Giuseppe Podda, a passionate collector and tireless explorer of art history, has built over the years a collection that spans from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, later expanding to later periods. The works selected for the auction are of extraordinary quality: paintings, sculptures, and precious objects that reflect his keen eye and deep love for history and beauty.

Among the lots in this collection, Lot 1 stands out—a significant medieval bas-relief depicting episodes from the stories of the biblical patriarch Joseph and the warrior saints. Attributed to the Romanesque school of Southern Italy, the relief, dated to the 12th–13th century, is carved in white marble. The piece is notable for its narrative strength and expressive intensity, hallmarks of Romanesque art, and represents a rare example of sacred medieval sculpture.

Another highlight is Lot 18, a very rare wooden sculptural group depicting the Annunciation, attributed to Domenico di Niccolò, known as “dei cori.” A Sienese work from the first half of the 15th century, the group comes from prestigious historic collections, including that of the Volterra brothers of Florence, and was exhibited at the First National Antique Exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi in 1953. The Annunciation, with its elegance and expressive intensity, is one of the rare testimonies of Sienese Gothic sculpture transitioning toward the Renaissance.

Also of exceptional importance is Lot 117, a splendid chest of drawers by Giuseppe Maggiolini, dating to the third quarter of the 18th century. This is a piece of rare beauty and technical mastery, embellished with refined marquetry and gilt bronze applications, topped with a speckled gray marble surface.

Among the lots of particular excellence is also Lot 32, a fine 18th-century Trapani nativity scene that once belonged to the Bulgari Collection in Rome. This work, made from precious materials such as coral, silver, and colored enamels, dramatically and theatrically depicts the mystery of the Nativity.

Old Master paintings are represented by masterpieces such as the Adoration of the Shepherds (Lot 40) by Valerio Castello, a major 17th-century canvas accompanied by a critical study by Anna Orlando, and the Portrait of Pellegrino del Ferro (Lot 44) by Giacomo Ceruti, known as "Il Pitocchetto," a master of 18th-century Lombard realism.

The section dedicated to antique silver includes exceptionally rare pieces such as the Rococo London basket from 1746 (Lot 88) by Paul de Lamerie, an 18th-century master silversmith, and the important Roman Eucharistic chalice (Lot 85) by Luigi Valadier, the foremost Italian goldsmith of the 18th century.

Renaissance sculpture is also well represented, with works such as the altarpiece depicting the Madonna and Child with Saint Louis and Saint George (Lot 21) by Santi Buglioni, which attests to the refined Della Robbia tradition in 16th-century Florence.

Among the furniture pieces, notable examples include the imposing Neapolitan coin cabinet from the 17th–18th century (Lot 45), with heraldic decorations and allegorical bronze sculptures, and a pair of Louis XV commodes (Lot 66) with precious inlays and refined gilt bronze mounts.

Also noteworthy is Lot 106, an important gilt bronze mantel clock finely chiseled by Louis Moinet (1768–1853) and Thomire et Cie, likely Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1757–1843), from Paris and dating to the first half of the 19th century. With a case of architectural form adorned with neoclassical motifs and rich decorations, this refined example fully embodies the French horological tradition of the mid-1800s.

Lot 111 features a Roman Louis XVI console table from the late 18th century, in gilt wood with a scagliola top. The refined top, in archaeological taste, features motifs inspired by classical mythology and ancient Etruscan vases, drawing from the famous engravings of Sir William Hamilton’s collection. A piece that expresses the elegance of Roman Neoclassicism through decoration rich in symbolism and historical references.
