Interessante esemplare che rappresenta anche la prima opera di Tommaso Mercandetti nella serie delle medaglie annuali. La sua realizzazione fu temporaneamente interrotta in quanto l'incisore aveva abbandonato Roma per i suoi rapporti turbolenti con gli Hamerani. L'intervento pontificio fu risolutivo nel far rientrare l'artista in città.
