Cambi Auction House announces one of the most anticipated events on the international market for collectible design, regarded as the most prestigious sale of the department: the Fine Design auction, scheduled for Tuesday, 27 January 2026, at its headquarters in Via San Marco 22. A landmark event for international collectors, the auction brings together a rigorously curated selection of 101 unique or rare lots, chosen for their historical importance, design quality, and aesthetic value. The sale traces a journey through the twentieth century, recounting the evolution of design as a cultural language poised between art and experimentation.

The catalogue features iconic and often unfindable works by the great masters of Italian and international design. Defining this sale is the presence of significant groups of furniture designed by some of the most influential figures of the last century.

Among these is a collection of furniture by Carlo Bugatti, with extraordinary examples of his unmistakable Symbolist and Orientalist language, expressed through parchment, repoussé copper, and precious inlays. Of exceptional importance is also the presence of Fontana Arte, with rare tables and lamps designed by Pietro Chiesa—true architectures of light and crystal that represent one of the pinnacles of European design culture in the 1930s.

The auction also presents an extensive corpus of Futurist furniture by Gerardo Dottori, originating from the historic Casa Cimino: a unique ensemble, remarkable for its completeness and state of preservation, capable of translating the pictorial dynamism of Futurism into the domestic sphere. Of great interest are also works by Osvaldo Borsani, including a monumental dining table produced by the Atelier of Varedo around 1940, a masterful synthesis of sculpture, myth, and modern design.

The journey continues with masterpieces by Gio Ponti, Carlo Mollino, Ettore Sottsass, Venini, and Stilnovo, culminating in one of the most eagerly awaited highlights of the sale: an important monographic group dedicated to Gabriella Crespi. Among the most significant lots are the rare Puzzle Table from the Plurimi series and the iconic Jacaré chairs, emblematic of a unique design vision founded on transformation, movement, and the freedom of space.
