Of extraordinary impact is the photography of Shirin Neshat, Seeking Martyrdom, one of the first photographic cycles made by the artist after his trip to Iran in 1990 (estimate: 25.000 - 30.000 euros).

The work of the Iranian photographer is aimed at exploring the complex relationship between gender, female position, political situation and religious tradition, terrorism and media representation of the Islamic world, especially Iran. The woman portrayed - who is the same Shirin - wears the hijab and holds in her hands the barrel of a rifle and a tulip: an image of a proud and proud Muslim woman, far from the preconception that sees her passive and submissive.
