"The auction of December 15 - comments Daniele Palazzoli, specialist of the Modern and Contemporary Art department - is presented in two separate rounds: one in the morning dedicated to photography and artist multiples, which offers graphics, quality sculptures and ceramics by Italian and foreign artists, and the other in the afternoon, with a catalogue that includes a section dedicated to an important private collection in which two historical works by Funi and Marussig stand out. As usual, space will be given to futurism, with a masterpiece on paper by Depero, a rare oil by Diulgheroff and an aeropainting by Ivanhoe Gambini; the reading then continues, among others, with a work on unpublished paper by De Chirico, an important large paper by Picasso, extroflected canvases by Bonalumi of the 60s, up to more recent years with the beautiful canvases by Parmiggiani and Combas, to conclude with the contemporary."

The absolute top lot of the auction is the Homme à la tranche de pastèque, guoache on paper by Pablo Picasso of 1967 (estimate: 250,000 - 350,000), as described by Michela Scotti, specialist of the department:
"A man sitting cross-legged is devouring a slice of watermelon with energy. The food, metaphor of the pleasures of life, is presented here as if it were an offering, in the gesture in which the eater hands it to the viewer. It seems to want to remind us of the fleeting nature of life and the invitation to enjoy its pleasures, living them moment by moment, and savoring the taste to the end."

The works will be visible to the public from 10 to 14 December 2022 in Via San Marco 22, Milan. Continuous opening hours: 10 am - 7 pm.
