An exclusive selection of vintage and modern timepieces will take center stage at the upcoming wristwatch auction organized by Cambi Casa d’Aste, scheduled for July 10, 2025, at the Milan headquarters in Via San Marco 22. The catalogue features a wide variety of lots: from major international watch brands to the most sought-after independent maisons, with the standout name being Daniel Roth, a true icon for the most discerning collectors.
“The auction will present a carefully curated selection of vintage and modern timepieces. The catalogue includes both major international brands and lesser-known names, including fascinating independent maisons such as Daniel Roth,” explains Domenico Cecconi, wristwatch specialist at Cambi.
Among the highlights of the sale is Lot 119, an ultra-thin automatic Daniel Roth, numbered No. 1, one of the earliest versions ever produced. An elegant watch featuring a guilloché dial, satin-finished ring, and Roman numerals, showcasing the refinement of the master’s earliest creations (Estimate: €10,000.00 / 20,000.00).
Next is Lot 120, a two-register chronograph by the same brand, numbered 3, also in excellent condition. Powered by a Lemania caliber modified by Daniel Roth, this piece represents a rare opportunity for lovers of technical and independent watchmaking (Estimate: €20,000.00 / 30,000.00).
A particularly significant piece is Lot 121, a platinum monopusher chronograph, numbered 0, featuring larger dimensions compared to the two-pusher model. This timepiece holds strong historical and collectible value, having already achieved record-breaking results at previous Cambi auctions (Estimate: €50,000.00 / 100,000.00).
Not to be missed is the very symbol of the maison, Lot 122, the Daniel Roth Tourbillon, with double dial, power reserve indication, and regulator function. The model offered in this auction is in like-new condition, never polished, with signs of oxidation that confirm its complete originality (Estimate: €50,000.00 / 100,000.00).
Rounding out the selection is a timeless icon, Lot 143: the Rolex Paul Newman ref. 6241 in a rare two-tone configuration. Although not an original factory configuration, the watch is in exceptional condition, featuring a pristine dial, clearly legible markers, and an intact case and bezel, likely never polished. A top-quality piece sure to attract the attention of the most experienced collectors.
