Single round, 3 p.m.
Cambi Auction House
via San Marco 22, Milan
Milan, March 25, 2024 - French glass-paste vases from Art Nouveau to Art Deco, iridescent Austrian and Czechoslovakian glassware, a selection of Austrian expressionist ceramics, and a collection of inlaid furniture by Émile Gallé, for a total of 283 lots, make up the rich catalog of the live auction scheduled for this spring.
All lots will be auctioned in a single round, at 3 p.m. on April 9, 2024, at the Milan headquarters of Cambi Auction House. The exhibition will be open to the public from Thursday, April 4 to Saturday, April 6; Monday, April 8 with hours 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Tuesday, April 9, the day of the auction, only in the morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The objects of great value are many in beauty and refinement. The lion's share is made up of glass paste cameo and enamel vases and cups, signed Émile Gallé, Daum, René Lalique, and Charles Schneider. Among the finest specimens is the flask vase with lake landscape and kingfisher decoration by Émile Gallé, a large blue vase with winter landscapes and swans signed Daum.
The first part of the auction is devoted to a private collection from Milan of Expressionist-influenced majolica female profiles made in Vienna in the 1930s by the Goldscheider manufactory and a curious series of anthropomorphic bottles of typical Art Deco taste in porcelain from the Robj manufactory in Paris. Of great rarity is a table lamp by Louis Comfort Tiffany, lot 30, in lead glass with poppy decoration and bronze base.
Rounding out the auction was a large offering at very attractive prices of modern crystal objects by Lalique and Orrefors.
At www.cambiaste.com you can follow the auction live streaming and actively participate by buying in real time as if you were in the room.
