With three absolute masterpieces signed by the masters of Italian Divisionism Angelo Morbelli and Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, Cambi Auction House announces the appointment 19th- and 20th-century Paintings, a live auction to be held at the Genoese venue of Castello Mackenzie on Thursday, March 28, featuring an exceptional catalog in terms of the variety of works and artists involved, which have been on display since the week before in the castle's halls.

By Angelo Morbelli-born in Alessandria in 1853 and died in Milan in 1919-two paintings are presented: an extraordinary oil on canvas titled Roofs under the Snow that he made in 1912, signed and dated at lower left (70x132.5 cm) and starting at an auction base of between 200,000 and 300,000 euros, and Interesting Game, a painting signed and dated 1904 (55x88 cm) estimated at between 150,000 and 200,000 euros.

By Pellizza da Volpedo, on the other hand - who was born and died in Volpedo in the province of Alessandria (1868 - 1907) - the house offers La Clementina, a work signed and dated 1904 that depicts a locality near the artist's hometown with a farmstead in the background and a tree in the center. The work, which starts at an auction base of between 80,000 and 120,000 euros (50x80 cm is the format), represents a moment in the early twentieth century when the artist was particularly dedicated to the study of landscape, inspired by his trip to Paris for the 1900 World's Fair and his visit to the Venice Biennale in 1901.
