The auction will be a compendium of majolica and collectible ceramics, coming from different private commissions, ranging from the end of the fifteenth century to the twentieth century.
The manufactories in the catalogue will be both Italian and foreign, from Meissen to Cantagalli.
The top lot is a rare example of small Renaissance majolica plastic: a Crib of Marche workshop (or Romagna?) dating back to the late fifteenth century.
The rarity of the object is based both on plastic modeling, made in the round and in bas-relief, and on the type that goes beyond the vascular production of the ceramics workshops of the time.
Not only that, it is also distinguished by the solution of the curved capsa enclosing the "Crib", incorporated in a rectangular panel: a solution that at the moment makes it unique.
